Adult Soccer League Forming

A soccer league for men (11 v 11) is being planned to run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at North Lake Family Recreation Center, and a soccer league for women (6 v 6) is also being planned to run on Monday and Wednesday evenings .

Summer Soccer Camp Planned

A Summer Soccer Camp will be held at North lake Family Recreation Center, July 20 - 24 for Ages 6 - 11, 9 a.m. to noon and, for ages 12 - 18 , 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Instructors are from MidWest Soccer Academy

Summer Basketball League

If you want to play some basketball this summer, the Village Recreation Department is offering a summer basketball league. The new league will run in conjunction with the Rec. Dept.'s weightlifting/basketball summer program that takes place at Westfield School. The league is open to all adults and high school aged kids who are looking to play in a fun and competitive basketball league. There will also be an opportunity for younger players to participate.

Pool Rental

The Welch Field pool is available for weekend rental.

The annual Fishing and Casting Derby for Kids was held Saturday, June 20, from

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Westfield Fish and Game Club on Ogden Road. The derby is for all children in the area, ages 5 to 12. There is no charge and lunch will be provided.

A parent or guardian must be in attendance.

Participants bring a pole and bait (no minnows). A limited number of poles and a shovel is available.

This event is co-sponsored by Wal-Mart, Westfield Fish and Game Club and the Westfield Recreation Department. Call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243 for more information.

Westfield Skate Park’s First Annual Competition

The Westfield Skate Park’s First Annual Skate-Scoot-Bike Competition will be held on Saturday, August 8, at the Westfield Skate Park, located on Union Street. Registration is free if received by 6 p.m. on August 1. Registration after August 1 is $5 per person.
